mihomo (formerly Clash Meta) is a community-enhanced branch of the original Clash core. Maintained by MetaCubeX, it's the most feature-rich and active core. Most GUI clients like Clash Verge Rev and FlClash use it by default.
The Core version is for advanced users on soft routers (OpenWrt, iStoreOS), servers, or headless Linux. Manage it via CLI and API dashboards (e.g., MetaCubeX Dashboard, Yacd).
Target Audience: Advanced users with Linux CLI experience who want to deploy transparent proxies on soft routers, NAS, or servers.
Regular users should choose a GUI client above; the core is already built-in, no manual setup needed.

Windows: Check 'This PC' -> 'Properties' -> 'System type'. Choose x64 for 'x64-based processor' or ARM64 for Snapdragon chips. Mac: Apple Silicon Macs (late 2020+) use arm64; older Macs use Intel x64.
